Odd, there’s a lot of French in this area and I don’t think I’ve ever heard ‘coucou’ except in the anglicized coo-coo as in ‘coo-coo for cocoa puffs’.
Oh well, different regions, different dialects and people from France have problems here to the point they’re better off speaking English 😉
Around here it’d likely be “Salut, Rouge” or more often “Salut, Red” or “Ca va ? Red” since that’s her name and there’s as much English in the French as there is French in the English. We speak both official languages at once and only politicians care otherwise.
